A Writing Observation

Just a short post today because the fasting month sees me snooze-ready by ten.

I have discovered that I can no longer write anything other than e-mails and blogposts on this desktop computer of mine. The mind jams and I end up surfing the internet instead.

I can only do the freewriting and the diary jottings on the laptop which I sometimes carry to bed for a couple of minutes of writing
before the eyelids droop.

I used to be able to write on this desktop, when the laptop was still Dell’s and not mine.

It is a most peculiar development and a tad inconvenient for the eyes because this desktop has a 21-inch LCD screen whereas the laptop’s is 12″.

But I suppose size doesn’t matter to the writing muse. Or perhaps she is less frightened by the smaller emptiness of the portable.

advice – don’t look at the screen at all, it will slow you down esp. as the tendency is to go back and correct grammar etc. just type!

That’s something new – looking at the keyboard instead of the screen. Worth a try and thanks for the tip.

Where Different Threads Come Together

Not at all sewing-related (Eliza can't sew a hemline to save her life), The Haberdashery is where Eliza runs to, when her assortment of thoughts threatens to overwhelm her. You are welcome to stay but watch out for the tangles. And the pins. Stubborn threads: Books and Writing. The Haberdashery is currently operated out of Malaysia, Eliza's beloved homeland.
